Have you ever bought fresh flowers and placed them in a vase, caring for them diligently? Have you tried to nurture them and keep them radiant, only to see them wither despite your efforts? Me too. But in the end, no matter how much we protect them, time wears away their splendor. The same happens with human relationships. No matter how hard we try to care for them, the passage of time wilts them.

“Flores Rotas” is a tribute to the human portrait and figurative painting, an invitation to contemplate the beauty of the classic through a contemporary lens. Through these portraits, I seek to capture the essence of these unique and transient connections. The expression of the masculine gaze intertwines with the delicacy and ephemeral beauty of the flowers. Each brushstroke is an attempt to capture the complexity and vulnerability of human nature.

Why do men give flowers and use them as a symbol of reconciliation? Perhaps it's because they recognize that, like flowers, relationships are fragile and require constant attention. Flowers become our way of saying "I'm sorry" and reminding the other that we're willing to start anew. In each wilted petal, there lies the hope of a fresh start.
