Body and thought, situated somewhere between architecture and nature. An invitation to cross boundaries and imagine other ways of being and relating to the world. I like to think of my work as a set of practices that investigate the nature of our perceptions, tied to a series of personal experiences ranging from my perspective as a migrant to the idea of the city as an entity, but also crossing the limits of space to venture into places both physical and mental, such as the Jungle or the Night. Elements such as cement, plants, dust, fire, or electricity frequently appear in my work through experimental techniques, generating devices that invite a singular and strange physical experience, while also addressing political and poetic questions. At its core, the work delves into the idea of the exhibition as a transformative experience for the viewer, as we search together for ways to orient ourselves in the world today.
Marlon de Azambuja lives and works between Madrid and Paris.
