Ramón Muñoz

JANUARY - MARCH 2022
Río & Meñaka RESIDENCY

His work is based on concepts such as doubt, identity duality and self-absorption in order to deal with the representation of the "I" in ambiguous spaces, simulated or represented based or not on a reference model. In this way, the painting offers disturbing scenarios, full of ambiguity and subtle irony that seek to stimulate the viewer, putting the focus on what is yet to be discovered.

Born in El Puerto de Santa María, Cádiz (1998), Ramón Muñoz studied Fine Arts at the University of Seville, where he also completed a Master's Degree in Idea and Production. He seeks to transfer everyday situations to a personal pictorial language in order to generate a new vision of reality, which is based on autobiography and seeks to confront the problems of today's society in a lighter way. His painting gathers all those experiences that have been present in some way during the creative process. The sum of these factors seeks to distance the spectator from ordinary reality, offering him a pause and inviting him to travel through this universe that is formed between representation and evocation.
